Forensics officers were examining the scene of a shooting in Clover Park on Saturday morning.
One person has been seriously injured in a shooting in south Auckland.
Police were called to reports a person had received a gunshot wound at a house on Dawson Rd, in Clover Park, Ōtara, at about 7am on Saturday.
A witness who claims he saw the incident said he saw a car pull up outside the home, two men aged in their late 20s got out and went inside before he heard two shots being fired.

A house on Dawson Rd, Ōtara, remained cordoned off on Saturday morning after a person was shot.
The man claimed the two men then got back into their car and drove off.
Police said reports of a person being taken into custody near the southern motorway on-ramp, near Manukau, were related to the incident and they were speaking to a number of people in relation to the shooting.
A neighbour of the house where the incident happened said her dad heard two gunshots early on Saturday. "That's really scary knowing that that's next door," she said.
Officers have taped off a bungalow on Dawson Rd, near East Tamaki Healthcare medical centre, and armed police remained outside on Saturday.
The neighbour said a large Tongan family with children lived at the house and there was often a lot of yelling and screaming coming from the house.

Police blocked off entry and exit to Ormiston Road via Te Irirangi Drive in south Auckland after shooting on Saturday morning.
Another witness reported seeing a number of police cars and armed officers in the area and said it was clear "something major is going down".
They said police had blocked off entry and exit to Ormiston Rd via Te Irirangi Drive at about 7am for around an hour, before leaving the area "speeding off towards the motorway".
"This doesn't sound like much ... until you see the massive gun in this cop's hand, and the chopper flying around very high above," the witness said.

Armed police have taped off a home in Dawson Rd, Clover Park, after a shooting.
Cordons were put in place on Dawson Rd as officers investigated the scene and made inquires to find out what happened.
Scenes of crime officers at the taped-off property appearing to be focusing on the front entrance and driveway area.
Traffic has been diverted away from the street into a small shopping centre nearby.

Police said they were working to establish what had happened in the incident at a house on Dawson Rd.
Armed police are also outside a house in Redoubt Rd, near Totara Park, about 3km away from Clover Park.
A neighbour said the large house, which is in a semi-rural area, was rented out for short term lets and had hosted a huge party with lots of people on Friday night.
At around 8am on Saturday the neighbour said he could hear the police Eagle helicopter hovering above the house, while armed police and the dog unit were outside.The neighbour said the homeowner told him someone had allegedly recognised one of the partygoers as a wanted person, and called police.

However, it is not thought the person was found at the address.
Police are yet to provide any information about the incident and will not confirm if the two are linked.
