Police have released the name of the 87-year-old man who died after being hit by a car in Dunedin.
The man was hit on Macandrew Rd near King Edward St about 4.50pm on Thursday and died in Dunedin Hospital early on Friday. He was Rex Archibald Harbott.
Police extended their sympathies to the man's family and friends.
The police serious crash unit would investigate the cause of the crash.
