Kirstie Allsopp wants to know whether you hang your clothes inside out in the wardrobe. 'Is this a thing?' she asks.
Reality TV star Kirstie Allsopp of Location, Location, Location and Love it, or List it, posed a question on Twitter that shows opinion is strongly divided.
The question? Does anyone hang their clothes in their wardrobe inside out to prevent dust/marks? "Is this a thing," she asked.
And it turns out lots of people replied yes. That's exactly what they do.

As Victoria Page puts it: "Yes, all my clothes are hung inside out in the wardrobe. Mainly because all my clothes are washed inside out and also ironed inside out."
And another reader: "Yes, I do that, and also hang then on the line inside out to prevent marks from the line, pegs or bee pollen dots showing on the outside. not sure if its a thing, but seems like common sense to me."
One husband posted: "My wife does and I've never had a clue why. Just grateful I don't have to do it."
Other readers mentioned covering good clothes with old shirts or plastic bags.
Then there were the people who didn't like the way the clothes would look inside out: "Oh Lordy no! That would really mess with my head."

The post also prompted a lot of interesting ideas about the best way to care for your clothes. One reader said, yes, she hangs some of her clothes inside out, but also she doesn't iron anything till she is going to wear it.

The reasons? "1, I dont have to waste hours ironing each week. 2 They always get creased. 3. You can fit more clothes in your wardrobe ..... or is that just me ?!!!!!"
Several people said they always hang clothes inside out on the washing line to prevent fading in the sun. And others said if you take clothes out of the dryer straight away you will never need to iron them.
